FEAR FALLS BURNING: "We Slowly Lift Ourselves From Dust"

ASP07 | 10" PDK
FEAR FALLS BURNING = VIDNA OBMANA

Titel:
A - Untitled
B - Untitled

Labelinfo:
This is a set of 28 minutes of new music by Fear Falls Burning for the Italian A Silent Place label. Per side Fear Falls Burning explores, as the title would suggest, the darker and nihilistic regions of his drone music.  Minimal repetitive motives which slowly evolve and expand over the 14 minutes per side into 2 unsettling harmonies of minor and solitude. All performed live and recorded directly onto hard disc, there's no editing involved in order to maintain the spontaneous interaction of the guitar with its effects and vice versa. The man behind Fear Falls Burning is just the orchestrator while the guitar speaks the language. Limited edition. Fear Falls Burning: a short bio --- Fear Falls Burning - Electric Guitar. The statement must be made. With all the power and noise and aggression and subtlety that comes from a single man performing real-time on the electric guitar through a maze of pedal effects, notes and chords shifting and multiplying over time into dense and trance-inducing walls of sound. Fear Falls Burning succeeds in uncovering a new language that stretches time and brings the listener to the edge multiple times, entrancing with the repetitive yet pure sonic presence of the electric guitar. The result could be compared to contemporary drone & minimal ambient acts like Growing and even Sunn o))). The sounds vary from gritty dirty guitarloops to long sonic landscapes with dense walls of sound. "Sustain" and "Loops" are keywords in the Fear Falls Burning storyboard, so are "tension" and "release." With no overdubs or post-production effects involved, the compositions progress in an organic and natural way, giving the music a special feeling and soul that is missing from many recordings these days. This is living. Breathing. Electric Guitar.

FABIO ORSI & GIANLUCA BECUZZI: "Muddy Speaking Ghosts Through My Machines"

ASP12 | CD in Digifile

Titel:
North Of Me (At Midday)
I'm Happy Here (Before The Rain)
I'm Happy Here (Under The Rain)
I'm Happy Here (After The Rain)
South Of Me (At Midnight)

Labelinfo:
"Muddy Speaking Ghosts Through My Machines" is the brand new album released together by Fabio Orsi and Gianluca Becuzzi. This album will be certainly followed by other cooperations, considering the big friendly artistic sodality between them. Fabio e Gianluca are a strange duo, considering the big differences of their artistic back-ground. Fabio Orsi is a young and unexpected talent. After his first album, "Osci" (LP, SmallVoices 2005), produced by Gianluca Becuzzi, he got a lot of positive feedbacks, worldwide, by the most important international media, confirmed by his second official release "For Alan Lomax" (CD, A Silent Place 2006) splitted with cosmical Italian duo My Cat is an Alien. Gianluca Becuzzi is a very well known character of the Italian experimental scene since from the 80s, under many different alias. Recently known as Kinetix, Gianluca latest release is the very well appreciated "Memory Makes Noise" (CD, SmallVoices 2006) a great electroacoustic pearl. The unexpected uncounter between different forces, experiences and visions of this two artists is prefectly melted in this album: strong and tied, an imaginary place where folkway and research, past and present, distance and closeness, mud and clouds, ghosts and machines meets. Shreds of ballads, guitars and old keyboards floating on the vibrant surface of this faery river and disappear, towed off by drones and rumors, pouring between distant voices and centenary blues songs from the Alan Lomax archive. Raptur and sweet lostness: this is the main sensation. It could be listed as Avant-Folk, or Experimental-Blues, Ambient- Roots or contemporary aesthetics and aching nostalgia...

ROBERTO OPALIO: "The Last Night Of The Angel Of Glass, Vol. I & II"

ASP11 | 2CD in Digifile
ROBERTO OPALIO = MY CAT IS AN ALIEN

Lableinfo:
Limited edition of 600 copies only. Double CD set reissuing the acclaimed "The last night of the Angel of Glass, Vol.I", original soundtrack to the omonimous film by Roberto Opalio (released on the long-out-of-print DVD-R/CD-R set by Foxglove, USA), plus the totally previously unreleased "Vol.II" (entire disc 2), representing the second half of a unique recording session. The work here available for the first time in its entire and remastered version was recorded by the artist himself at home in Torino, Italy, on November 1st 2005, while his camera, set on the balcony, was filming Opalio's glass-art creation (the Angel) animated by the soft light of a candle under a blackened sky. Here are the words by the artist himself, reported as liner notes inside the 6-panels gatefold sleeve featuring stills taken from the film: 'my voice/ my astral guitar/ instants of life/ home/ window of memories/ blue afternoon/ winter 2005/ cold burning flame/ torino/ whispers of glass/ suspended/ between/ day & night/ before black falls'. --- "There is no other cosmic traveller like Roberto Opalio. Best known for his work with his brother as My Cat Is An Alien, this feline twin is slowly building an equally impressive body of solo works. Opalio is on another plane entirely with "The last night of the Angel of Glass." Bypassing the cosmos completely and directing his aim straight to heaven. Using nothing but his guitar and his voice, Opalio sears the stratosphere into orbit. As his voice floats like a ghost into the empty celestial crevices, his guitar falls from the sky like a melted star. This is haunting and magnificent. Roberto Opalio at his best."
