All Your Sisters — Modern Failures Cassette + Download All Your Sisters take on the post-punk paradigm is decidedly non-retro. The basic building blocks are there; heavy drum machine rhythms, pumping melodic bass lines, swaths of atmospheric guitars and cold synth melodies, but where many bands are content to wallow in the shadows of their influences, All Your Sisters sounds like the future. All Your Sisters is the work of Jordan Morrison and Mario Armando Ruiz. The band was initially a solo project initiated by Morrison in the fall of 2011 but Ruiz became a regular member and contributor in 2012. All Your Sisters are based in San Francisco, California. Ashburn County — Our Dead Selves Rise: A Collection Cassette + Download The bewildering number of styles present on this cassette, makes it almost impossible to describe what's awaiting the listener. In their attempt to recreate the ambience of the swamps of their native Louisiana, Ashburn County pulls in influences from cinema (notably S.F. Brownrigg's films), photography (Ralph Eugene Meatyard, Clarence John Laughlin) and music (ranging from Somewhere in Europe to Coil), and then builds up their very own mythology full of melancholy and terror, ghost tales and dancing skeletons. A visual universe in which each song is like the sequence of a film. Ashburn County is the work of Leroy Delbert Quebedeaux and a long line of collaborators. Our Dead Selves Rises was compiled by Beläten from two private edition CDRs; Scenes of Daily Life in the Rural South, and Ashen-Faced. Some of their previous work has been published with art-books released by San France Disko. Michael Idehall — Deep Code Cassette + Download Beläten mainstay Michael Idehall returns with the natural follow up to SOL from 2012. On Deep Code, Idehall develops his seancetronica into an evermore feral experience. The music is sweaty, sexual, and sublime; pulsating and undulating, it forces the listener into a state of ecstatic trance. Deep Code is guaranteed to turn any dance floor into a hallucinatory temple of mind and matter merged into one. Michael Idehall (b. 1982) is a composer, sound artist, painter, and author living and working in Gothenburg, Sweden. The artistic output of Idehall always strives towards manifesting an opening to a world beyond the mundane. The creative process involves honing in on the nexuses between the flows of mind, matter and spirit. Nexuses which exist inside the human being, but also in the outer world, as conglomerations of energy and matter. In Michael’s creations, this convergence is revealed through the clash of ancient and modern, natural and artificial, and first and foremost the instilling of spirit into object.
